In this overview of handbuilding techniques for beginners you will learn about key handbuilding techniques and how to glaze your own pots. At the end of the course you will be able to identify and select appropriate techniques and processes to make basic functional and / or sculptural pots.
Content:
Rolling slabs, attaching bases, working to template, body and hand awareness, clay management, shaping, compressing, forming and joining handles. Forms include cylinders, jugs / vessels, and geometric dishes. Glazing: selecting glazes and applying glazes to bisc. Good practice: managing workspaces and resources to avoid common technical problems.

Duration: 15 hours over 6 weeks.
Includes: non-refundable booking fee (2.5% of ticket value), all materials, and up to 5kg of fired work (unfired weight).
