We’re leaving town
Make Well at The Guild Wilshire, 14-16 August 2021
Get hands on and develop new skills with Hole & Corner’s line-up of inspiring workshops (pre-booking advisable). Take to the Potter's wheel with Sunken Studio, try your hand at model making with the team behind Wallace & Gromit, Aardman Animations or create your own wearable ceramics with Rose de Borman and Joely Clinkard. Learn the art of macramé with Kalicramé, produce a graphical artwork using traditional letterpress with Mr Smith or screen print and take home your very own tote bag with Miesje Chafer. Make a silver ring with Roderick Vere or repair and revive your old clothes with Sally Walton. There is also the opportunity to be a part of the Bruton Correspondence School Mail Art project – all this alongside a programme of sound baths, yin yoga and breath work brought to you by Verve Festival.
Have a go on a Potter's wheel. Working 'off the hump' you will learn how to control and manipulate clay to make a series of small pots. It'll be fast, fun and filthy. Firing services are not included in the ticket price - we'll recycle your pots and they'll become more pots. If you'd prefer to keep your makes you can add firing and shipping services after your session.
Make Well, is a collaboration between Hole & Corner and Eagle One, who are behind the redevelopment of The Guild Wiltshire. This event is one of this summer's brilliant opportunities to get hands on and develop new skills, meet the makers and learn about craft.
There will be a Hole & Corner pop-up shop, and a makers’ market, where you can see and buy work from some of the most talented up-and-coming craftspeople in the UK. Food, drink, live DJs and special offers all add to the fun.
Hole & Corner was launched in May 2013 as a lifestyle brand celebrating and promoting creativity, craftsmanship, heritage and authenticity through digital, print and events.
It is about people who spend more time doing than talking, for whom content is more important than style; whose work is their life. It’s about telling stories of dedication.
Hole & Corner magazine is published biannually, dedicated to stories of craft, beauty, passion and skill. It is distributed internationally, with stockists including Colette in Paris, MagNation in Sydney, Do You Read Me?! in Berlin, Athenaeum Niewscentrum in Amsterdam and 300 Barnes & Noble stores in the US.
The Hole & Corner Shop was launched in 2019, in Bruton, the creative heart of Somerset. It is a platform for work by emerging and established makers who create timeless, functional products for daily life.
Hole & Corner work with makers who encapsulate the Hole & Corner ethos; celebrating creativity, craftsmanship and heritage.
