We have just sent out an important update on forthcoming changes to firing work at the studio - including increased fair use volumes for all levels of membership, heat mapped Volumator pricing and your all important Christmas Firing Deadlines.

Firing Prices:

    •    Pots smaller than 20 cm: £1.20 per litre.
    •    Pots between 20-40 cm: £1.55 per litre.
    •    Pots between 40-60 cm: £1.95 per litre.

This covers your bisc and glaze firing as well as the associated kiln servicing, loading and unloading costs and use of the house glazes.

HOW TO USE:

Measure your pots on the Volumator by counting the number of squares your pot covers at its widest points and multiplying this by the tallest height band your pot stretches into.

example if your pot covers a footprint of 2 squares, and reaches the second height band this would be 2 × 2 meaning a quantity of 4 litres are entered for checkout.

If your pot stretches over one of the lines marked with orange tape (and shown on the colour coded diagram in the second image on this page, it has fallen into the next pricing tier, meaning that the full volume (both within the orange and lines and beyond) is then chargeable at the mid or high rate.

example you have a 30 cm long, 12cm wide and 2 cm tall rectangular plate. This has a dimension which falls between 20-40cm and therefore is charged at the mid tier rate of £1.55 per litre. In this case it would be a total of 6 litres so 6 x £1.55 = £9.30 total firing charge.
