The Hepworth Wakefield ONLINE Ceramics Fair 2021

Join us online from 9 – 18 July 2021. We are taking part in The Hepworth Wakefield ONLINE Ceramics Fair. We’ll be releasing our new Standard Ware pots into the wild!

Sunken Studio’s Standard Ware is the result of a year spent pivoting, panicking, reflecting and refining. We’ve made a lot of pots - mugs, bowls, pourers and planters - and we’ve learned a lot about our limitations and challenges.

Our Standard Ware is thrown by hand on a potter’s wheel. Yeh, we make mugs, but our mugs are more than mugs. They are an opportunity for us to expand and invest in people, develop production capacity, and explore a bit of chemistry… Oh yeh! The sumptuously tactile and durable kind. Wait! Durable? Ohhh… we’re talking about glazes.

Sunken Studio is changing. We are restructuring to become a hybrid production pottery, shop and coworking pottery: making wheel thrown stoneware pottery, working to commission and sharing what we learn along the way.

We’ve spent a year testing and developing products. We have now simplified our range and want to make pots that sit alongside all studio activities. We have space and resources, and have restructured our time to create more opportunities for more people to work with the good stuff - clay!
