Pull Together

We’re hosting a mass pulling (handles) event to promote the transformative power of craft. It’ll be messy, unnerving and very funny. We’re inviting 150 Leeds residents to slip, slime and slop their way to making gorgeous handles. With just a little clay, water and your hands you’ll learn how to use firm and consistent pressure to shape a lump of clay into something useful.

That’s 150 people, in Leeds, making a connection and laughing, really laughing - we promise, it’s impossible to pull clay without inducing a few giggles.

When: Friday 14 - Sunday 16 May, 2021

Duration: 40 minutes

Where: online, across Leeds

Price: £3.50

Meet

Our production potters are broadcasting live from Sunken Studio. They’ll be joined by our new studio assistants to explore clay and pull (handles) together.

We’ll dispatch 150 batches of TubeClay to addresses across Leeds. TubeClay is a conveniently packaged and postable basic clay kit. We introduced it to widen access to our resources and equipment.

Live demonstrations and technical support will be delivered by our potters Chris Crawford and Billy Cave
