Back to our Roots
Sunken Studio was setup in September 2016 to increase opportunities to access specialist pottery making resources and support in Leeds. We started small, hosting design-led practical workshops for small groups in a tiny basement, and larger groups through a range of partnerships with local and regional lifestyle stores. Bit by bit, the studio and partnerships expanded. In 2018 we outgrew the 24m² basement in Roundhay and expanded into a 294m² space on Carlisle Road in the South Bank area of Leeds. It was a temporary move that lasted 18 months. Finally, one pandemic - a lot of panic, a few diversifications, and five new team members later, Sunken Studio became we, and we all moved to our current site on Butterley Street, just around the corner.
Sunken Studio reopens to members for individual use on 12 April, alongside memberships we’re now able to host private workshops for single households or support bubbles.

Price: £140 for two people
Prerequisites: None
Includes: booking fees, all materials, firings and a glazing service.
