Hello, hello, hello
Our fundraiser for Simon on the Streets is live from 10am Saturday 30 January 2021. We have pourers ready to dispatch next week. We’re also taking pre-orders (for one day only). Pre-orders will be live until we reach production capacity. We’ll dispatch pre-orders within 3-6 weeks.
Dimensions: 50mm x 55mm x 84mm
Available in:
Flecked treacle: golden flecks in a gooey dark gloss.
Tomato: satin red mottled with neutral green-brown blooms.
Pickled red: mottled dark brown-red gloss.
I’m looking forward to future conversations about our glaze labelling. Where’s the tomato? Tomato ain’t great on plates etc... Other contenders for our pickled red, and still in the running, include:
Oxtail
Maraschino cherry
Beetroot
Pickle came from Branston Pickle suggested by @throwing_pots on Instagram.
Why food? Simple: we make pots. The language used to describe the material and visual characteristics of food and glaze is often shared: colour, surface, and texture. Food names are reminder that glazes are more than a method of introducing colour. Glazes are tactile and relative: they can compliment a form but also undermine and conflict with it.
We are selling a limited run of pourers as part of the The Great Charity Pot Sale.
Funds will be donated to Simon on the Streets: an independent charity in West Yorkshire helping the homeless and vulnerable.
