Open Day: Yorkshire Day
The 1st August is Yorkshire Day and this year we carved out time for a kilo of clay.
We hosted tea themed workshops - teaming up with nutritional consultant Melanie Hadida to explore how to make relaxing tea infusions.
Our midweek pottery making event aimed to help visitors destress with a lump of clay and a calming cuppa.
We ran a teabowl making workshop - introducing the Japanese technique of Kurinuki. Kurinuki is a hand-forming process that involves shaping a mass of hardened clay. The clay it hit and carved. We also host this workshop as a ceramics taster too.
